Perserverance Tavern

Dating back to 1836, this is the oldest pub in Cape Town. Travellers disembarking from ships at Cape Town’s Castle, affectionately known as Persies, stayed at the Perseverance Tavern, in what was then Slave’s Walk, as far back as 1808. The history-steeped pub, which received its liquor licence in 1836, has been lovingly restored. A pub in the true sense of the word, it is a place for beer and fish and chips at incredibly reasonable prices.
